How does this work?

Great question! It all starts with a tax deductible donation from people like you. While making the donation via our Donation page you will be prompted to tell us how to use your donation. As Project Wildness travels the country we will search out serendipitous situations to fulfill your act of kindness request. When we use your donation we will write a story with all the details and share it across our social media. So get creative, donate now, and tell us what to do!

How do i know when my donation has been used?

Typically, Mordecai, our messenger falcon, would deliver a notice to you, but an intern lost him in NYC last summer. We are currently working on a system to send an email notification when your donation is used. This is still in the development phase. For the time being you will just have to visit The Upbeat regularly and look for a shout out at the  bottom of each story. If you see your name - it's your story!

Is this a religious mission?

Does that matter? We aren't necessarily inspired or motivated by any specific religious belief or custom. Project Wildness prefers not to separate people into categories such as race, sex, or religion. Instead, we strive to unite humanity through kindness.  At the end of the day - Project Wildness is not a religious mission, but rather, a human mission.

Can I join Project Wildness on one of your trips?!

Can you live out of the backseat of a Subaru Crosstrek while camping in every type of terrain and environment while not showering for days on end while eating sandwiches to pinch pennies and still have a smile on your face when you talk to a variety of random strangers for months at a time? If you answered yes, you didn't think about the question hard enough.

Why are you doing this?

What an incredibly existential question! Our purpose at Project Wildness, like any good idea, is in a state of constant evolution. What started as a simple road trip to do good is now something much greater! Ultimately, our goal is to inspire good by doing good. With that in mind, we want you to be involved. We believe your donation is more than just that - it's a story and we are hear to write it for you! Or you can join in on our weekly random act of kindness challenge and experience the fun first hand.

Is this on the level or is Project WIldness some kind of elaborate ruse?

What kind of world do we live in when you can't tell the difference between a couple of crazy do-gooders and a traveling snake-oil salesman? Lucky for us the federal government and the state of Minnesota have recognized Project Wildness as a full-fledged, tax-exempt nonprofit with 501(c)3 status. We believe in 100% transparency at Project Wildness which is why we publish our financial statements on a quarterly basis. Still have your doubts? Take some time to read The Upbeat and then decide for yourself if you want to participate!

Is my donation tax deductible?

You bet it is! Project Wildness is recognized by the IRS as a tax-deductible 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. This means you can deduct any donation to Project Wildness on your personal income taxes. Be sure to keep the email receipt you received after donating on our website. If you lost the email or didn't receive one - send a request from our contact page.

Is Project Wildness hiring?

If they are I'm the first in line! Our current operating budget is very limited. Our founders don't get paid to do what they do so neither will you. BUT if you really really really want to help and you like working for no pay and you have some sort of skill (graphic designer, web developer, social media guru, etc.) then send an email to ProjectWildness@gmail.com and we'll be in touch!
